Lush

My amazing Switch Witch gifted me with an order from Lush. I love Lush products. They smell amazing. I was gifted bath bombs in Vanilla Fountain and Honeybee. Lush bath bombs are huge. I haven't used these yet since I am attempting to use up some other bath stuff first. I also got samples of Noubar and Waylander soap. I tried the Waylander on my face. I'll have to wait and try it again before I can really give an opinion.

Bad service from Holsted Jewelers

Once in awhile I get these little advertisement cards in the mail with rings from a place called Holsted Jewelers. I've bought stuff from them before with no problems. Sometime in June, I got a card advertising a replica of the Princess Diana/Kate Middleton ring for $6.99. I decided to order the ring since it looked nice and none of the other jewelry from this company has ever given me a problem.

Early in July, I get the ring. Right away I can tell that the center stone is damaged. It's badly scratched and looks more white than blue. I tried wiping it with a soft washcloth, thinking that maybe it was just a weird coating that could be wiped away. This actually made it look worse. I ended up deciding to send it back for an exchange.

Middle of July rolls around and my credit card bill arrives. I see the $6.99 charge for the ring and also notice a charge from the same company for $56.99. I called them to find out what it was for, hoping they were not charging me for the damaged ring. The customer service rep I spoke to told me that the $56.99 was for the sapphire earrings that I ordered. I told her that I did not order or receive any earrings and I had just wanted to exchange a ring. She promises to have a new ring sent out and refund me the cost of the earrings. This is a good thing. While she has me on the phone, she also tries to sell me a pink crocodile wallet, watch, and keyring set. I declined because it's not really something I can see myself using.

Middle of August rolls around and I still did not get the replacement ring. My credit card bill arrives and I've billed another shipping charge for the ring and a charge of $36.98. Another call to Holsted Jewelers tells me that the charge of $36.98 is for the pink crocodile set that I ordered. I tell the customer service rep that I had not ordered this, did not receive it, and had actually said that I did not want it. I was told that it had been sent on July 29th and to call back at the end of the week if it had not yet arrived. I call back that Friday, tell them the same thing that the ring and other items have no arrived and I am being billed. I'm told them same thing about the items being shipped on July 29th. The date of this call was August 19th. Seems like a bit of a long time for shipping. I finally called back again today after another week of none of these items arriving and hopefully got these charges taken off my bill. I just hope I don't find new charges next month.

Bzzing about Covergirl NatureLuxe

I started a new Bzz Campaign last week for the new line of NatureLuxe products from Covergirl. Since Covergirl is a brand that I use a lot, I was excited to try this. I got a full sized foundation and gloss balm in the mail. I got the foundation in #310 Flax and the gloss balm in #215 Hibiscus. The foundation is a bit darker than I would like, but Covergirl seems to forget that all women are not beige. I do like the amount of coverage it provides and that it goes on easily and doesn't look caked on. Aside from the lack of a shade light enough for pale skin, I really do like this product.

On to the gloss balm. I love this product. I love the color and the fact that it wears pretty well. The color looked a bit dark in the tube but was lighter when I applied it. It's a great color that I can see myself buying more of. I'm not too thrilled with the scent of the product, but I can overlook that.

New perfume

I don't normally wear spray perfumes anymore since I got hooked on Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. I couldn't resist this one though. I love the bottle.

For anyone who can't read the label, the scent is called Vampire. It can be purchased at Vampire Fantasies.

Avon bottles

Random thing about me. I collect vintage Avon perfume bottles. I really need to find all of them and take a photo of all of the bottles I collected over the years. Until then, I am just posting some of the ones that I love.

Too many fonts

I have the habit of downloading fonts in large collections and never using them. I finally decided that I really need to sort through them all and delete any that I don't think I'll ever use. This task is going to take awhile since I have 12,084 fonts on my computer. These aren't installed, just stuff I downloaded. I'll be surprised if I end up with 100 of them that I actually like. I deleted a bunch of .pfm, .afm, .pfb, and type 1 fonts. Deleting them has cut my font folder down to 7,682. Still a lot more to sort through. Anyone looking for a free tool that allows you to view fonts without installing them should go download AMP Font Viewer.

Favorite online stores

I'm feeling a little bored right now so I thought I'd share a few of my favorite online stores.

First up is Paintbox Soapworks. I haven't tried all of the products available but I love the ones I have. My favorite are The Queen is Dead and Smiling Jack soaps. Neither scent is currently available since I think they are seasonal scents. This shop is worth checking out if you love scented soaps.

Peace Blossom Candles is another favorite. I was given this candle as a gift. I like the scent and love the design. If you like beeswax candles, check this out.

My favorite hand lotion is from Happy Hands. I have a few favorites from this shop. I got samples of the Cupcake ,Lavender & Sage,Citrus & Cilantro,Cinnamon Cider,Tall Cotton,Sweetie Pie,Cucumber Melon, and Hippie Chick scents. My favorites of those are Cupcake, Cinnamon Cider, Sweetie Pie, and Hippie Chick. Everyone needs to try some of this stuff.

More of my favorites later. I am too tired right now.

Movies

I have been watching a lot of movies lately. More than I usually do. In the last month or so, I have watched Black Swan, Burlesque, 127 Hours, Cabin by The Lake, Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Tangled, Legally Blonde, Legally Blonde 2, and Return to Cabin by The Lake. I think there might be a few more that I have watched as well. I honestly don't remember. I have a big list of movies I want to see too. I really want to see Ginger Snaps, Sleepy Hollow, Jennifer's Body, and the Children of the Corn movies. I'm not much of a romantic comedy kind of girl. Give me a dark comedy, an action movie, or something bloody.

My current favorite movies are The Crow, Jawbreaker, How To Be A Serial Killer, and The Blues Brothers. None of this are exactly typical girly movies. I think the only movie I own that can be classified as a romantic comedy is 500 Days of Summer. Most of my friends rush out to see the latest Jennifer Aniston movie on opening day. I roll my eyes and laugh. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just not into that kind of predictable movie. I'm not a fan of Twilight either. I hate hearing women sighing over Edward and proclaiming him a perfect gentleman. Yeah, whatever. I'll stick to True Blood.

I would like to make a toast to lying, stealing, cheating and drinking. If you're going to lie, lie for a friend. If you're going to steal, steal a heart. If your going to cheat, cheat death. And if you're going to drink, drink with me.
