Breakfast recipes

Tired of the same boring breakfast? Try these healthy recipes for a change.

Breakfast Pizza
2 slices whole grain bread
2 thick slices of tomato
2 slices of low fat mozzarella cheese or 1/2 cup of shredded low fat mozzarella

Toast the bread, then top each slice with tomato and slice of cheese or 1/4 cup of shredded cheese. Place under your oven's broiler or in a toaster oven until the cheese melts.

Breakfast Sundae
1 banana
1/2 cup low fat yogurt (any flavor)
1/4 cup almonds or other nuts
1/2 cup blueberries or other berries

Slice the banana and place it at the bottom of a bowl. Top with yogurt, nuts, and berries for a healthy breakfast sundae.

Peanut Butter-Banana Roll up
2 tablespoons of peanut butter
1 whole wheat tortilla
1 frozen banana (slightly thawed)

Spread the peanut butter over the tortilla, then roll the tortilla around the frozen banana.

Watermelon Slushy

1 Large seedless watermelon
3 cups Pomegrante juice
Sugar to taste
Makes about 8 servings

Cut the melon in half length wise. Scoop out the pulp and place on foil lined baking sheets in thin layers. Place melon in freezer for three hours or until melon is frozen. Blend frozen melon and pomegrante juice in blender on high until slushy. Add sugar to taste.
